About Me

I started my career working in the arts, helping people to tell their stories through theatre. During the Covid-19 pandemic I decided I wanted to work with people to help them understand their thoughts, feelings and experiences.

I have turned to therapy at various times in my life to help me make sense of difficult experiences. I find that personal therapy offers us the opportunity to explore what is going on for us without the pressure of considering the reaction of the listener or the need to reciprocate.

Although I am a general therapist and work with clients on a variety of issues, I have particular experience in:

The Perinatal Experience

Some experiences in this area may include perinatal mood disorder (perinatal depression, anxiety and OCD in particular), birth trauma and pregnancy/infant loss. I have completed additional training in this area and have worked with parents who have experienced various difficulties around parenting and childbirth. Pregnancy and childbirth can be one of the most challenges periods in a person’s life, and for the people caring from them. Apart from the enormous strain on your brain and body there is also a societal pressure to be in constant celebration mode which sometimes encourages us to repress or deny any negative feelings. Therapy can provide a place free of judgement to explore all aspects of this experience, which allows you to better understand this emotional period of your life.
