My Approach

The majority of my counselling training has been in the Person-Centred Approach. Person-Centred Therapy was established by Carl Rogers in the 1950’s and has been studied and practiced around the world since. At its core, Person-Centred Therapy is client lead and based on responding to what each client brings.

My practice of this type of therapy is based on a foundation of empathy and acceptance. I hope that between my clients and myself we can create a space that encourages us to explore all of ourselves without fear of shame or rejection. For some, coming to therapy can be a very uncomfortable thing to do, while for others it is a relief to have access to a place to share, either way, my aim will always be to hold space for every aspect of a person’s experience and to treat what is shared with care and respect.

I spend time and put a huge amount of effort into establishing trust with my clients and their safety and wellbeing is my top priority at all times
